Seminar series of International Green Building Campus Initative were held during on 25th-26th, October 2013, during the 3rd Hot Summer & Cold Winter Climate Zone Green Building Alliance Conference in Chongqing. The seminars were hosted by Green Campus Committee, China Green Building Council and the International Green Campus (IGCA) was officially founded in the event. Delegates from more than 40 organizations and 70 schools, including CGBC ,Tongji University, Tsinghua University, Chongqing University, Shandong Jianzhu University, Shenyang Jianzhu University, Changchun University, Suzhou University, MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, The University of Hong Kong, No.2 Secondary School Attached to East China Normal University，Nanjing Ninghai Middle School, Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School， Beijing Chaoyang No2 Experimental Primary School, Changsha Yuelu Experimental Primary School and Guangxi Yulin Fumian Shantian Town Wanxin Primary School, participated in the kick-off ceremony and IGCA conference in the afternoon of 25th. The Conference passed IGCA tenets and charter and elected the Presidium, which consists of delegates from Tongji University, Carnegie Mellon University, Chongqing University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School. Prof. WU Zhiqiang was elected the Presidium Chair, Dr. SU Yunsheng, and Ms WANG Qian the Secretaries-General of Presidium and YANG Tianren, the Assistant to Chair.

In the morning of 26th, Oct, IGCA kicked off the project “Green Campus Building Knowledge Textbooks Compilation and Promotion” and a seminar on Innovative Green Campus Education and Experience Sharing commenced later. Discussions were developed to give suggestions to the textbook series “ Green Campus and the Future”, which is compiled by Green Campus Committee and more than 60 green building experts and teaching staff from universities and schools. Prof. WANG Chongjie,CPC secretary-general of Shangdong Jianzhu University, Mr. WANG Qingqin, Secretary-General, CGBC, Prof. TANG Mingfang of Chongqing University， Mr. CHEN Dingfan, deputy dean of Chongqing Education and Science Research Institute, and Mr. CEHN Guangpei, headmaster of Chongqing Jiulongpo No. 1 Experimental Primary School especially gave important suggestions on the optimized compilation supporting materials development, pilot courses, teachers training, green campus innovative education and promotion.
